Head and condenser
High on the wall with a drain path. Outdoor unit on a pad or bracket. Manufacturer clearances, not a plant bed.
Permit
New mini splits need a mechanical permit with the AHJ in Spring Hill, Williamson, Columbia, and Franklin. Maury County does not require a permit for this work. Spring Hill exempts some like-for-like replacements — a new head is not that exemption.
Copper, vacuum, charge
Clean flares. Evacuate to spec. Add charge if the run beats the factory precharge. This is the name of the company.
Condensate
Gravity when the wall allows it. Pump only when it does not. No drain on the sidewalk.
Startup
Cool and heat check. Remote and app. Model and serial on the ticket. Warranty registration when the portal is up.
License line
Tennessee HVAC work of $25,000 or more generally needs a state CMC / CMC-C. Smaller jobs still need permits, insurance, and EPA 608 on anyone who opens the circuit. License number goes in the footer before the first deposit. Licensing page.
